Round 5 Notice of Funding Availability Amendment

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) are announcing the release of the Amended Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Round 5. The VHHP Round 5 NOFA was released on November 8, 2019 for approximately $75 million.

The amendment:

  • All program funds shall be used for approved development costs, as found in Section 103 of the VHHP program guidelines, and to refinance loans used to cover such costs.

Applications are due February 13, 2020

Background: VHHP finances the development of

multifamily rental housing containing permanent

supportive housing, transitional housing, and affordable housing for Veterans and their families. The program is administered by HCD in collaboration with CalVet and the California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA). There have been four prior VHHP funding rounds, resulting in awards totaling $293.9 million for 63 projects.
